Amy Rouillard

Amy is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Quantum Research Group of Stellenbosch University in South Africa, under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Petruccione.

Amy completed her previous studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where she earned a Master’s degree under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Konrad. During her master’s program, she dedicated her research to the development of robust control schemes for quantum systems, focusing on measurement-based feedback and coherent feedback techniques.

Currently, Amy’s research interests lie at the intersection of physics, machine learning, and quantum technologies. In addition, she has a particular focus on explainable AI. Amy’s PhD research is centered around physics-informed machine learning, an area that combines the principles of physics with the power of machine learning algorithms.
