The second QWorld Annual Meeting convened participants from around the world to discuss the growth and coordination of the QWorld network. Chairperson Paweł Góra opened the meeting by outlining its purpose: presenting QWorld and its regional “QWorld Cousins,” exploring the opportunities for quantum initiatives, and fostering community integration.
The two-day event’s programme featured presentations from active QWorld Cousins across multiple continents and invited talks on quantum AI and opportunities for women in quantum. Discussions on emerging initiatives were held. Among them, QNextGen was introduced as a platform for young researchers to present ideas, engage with high-level research, and participate in discussions across quantum computing, AI, quantum NLP, and physics. The breakout sessions allowed participants to share ideas, discuss workshops, and explore key strategies for improving QWorld’s operations.
Pawel emphasised that the network’s focus is on education, research internships, and open collaboration. They achieve this by linking regional groups, mentoring early-career researchers, and supporting training programmes. The meeting highlighted QWorld’s role as a global hub for learning, collaboration, and the continued development of the quantum ecosystem.
