Omid is an International Ph.D. student from Iran in the Quantum Research Group at Stellenbosch University, supervised by Prof. Francesco Petruccione and Prof. Ilya Sinayskiy.
He is interested in investigating quantum effects in biological systems, such as the magnetic effect in the Radical Pair Mechanism (RPM) or Vibrationally Assisted ElectronTunneling (VAET), and its application in drug discovery, from the Open Quantum System approach and its implications in living systems. If you are interested in Quantum Biology read his Medium post here.
As a Qiskit advocate, he is also interested in applying Quantum Computing to solve interesting problems in Quantum Simulation, Life Sciences, and Chemistry. He is actively involved in promoting quantum computing, as a co-founder of QSouthAfrica and a core member of QIran he has organized many events in Quantum Computing like QBronze, QSilver, and QNickle. Check QSouthAfrica LinkedIn.
Omid earned his BSc in theoretical physics from the University of Guilan and his MSc from Isfahan University of Technology in Iran.
He is a Physics and Math tutor with over 12 years of experience.
