Gerhard is currently a master’s student in the group. He completed his BSc and BSc Honours in Theoretical Physics at Stellenbosch University. For his master’s project, he is looking at computational methods within the framework of a novel reformulation of quantum field theory – inspired by the mathematical machinery of open quantum systems – which goes by the name of dissipative quantum field theory.
In his free time, he enjoys running, learning new languages and playing piano.
